Jane Wilde Hawking
Jane Wilde Hawking (born Jane Beryl Wilde; 29 March 1944) is an English author and educator. She is the ex-wife of Stephen Hawking.
==Personal life==
Hawking was born to Beryl (née Eagleton) and George Wilde. She grew up in St Albans, Hertfordshire and later studied languages. She married Stephen Hawking in 1965, whom she had met through mutual college friends at a party in their mutual hometown of St Albans. The couple had three children: Robert was born in 1967, Lucy 1970, and Tim in 1979. After years of working on her doctoral thesis through Westfield College, she was able to attain her PhD in Medieval Spanish poetry in April 1981.〔http://simplyknowledge.com/science/stephen-hawking〕 Jane and Stephen separated in 1990, and divorced five years later; she then married family friend and musician Jonathan Hellyer Jones. Jane supported Stephen through his health problems for years as he continued to work.
